The Medical College of Georgia (MCG) at Augusta University has a Northwest Georgia Campus that focuses on training primary care physicians to serve rural and underserved areas. Established in 2013, this campus has partnerships with Atrium Health Floyd, Advent Health Redmond and Harbin Clinic.

Georgia Highlands College
Georgia Highlands College’s mission is to provide access to excellent educational opportunities for the intellectual, cultural and physical development of a diverse population. Since 1970, Georgia Highlands College has served the Northwest Georgia communities. Founded as Floyd Junior College, GHC now serves thousands of students from over 30 counties in Northwest Georgia. GHC became a state college in May of 2011.
Georgia Northwestern Technical College
Georgia Northwestern Technical College, a unit of the Technical College System of Georgia, promotes community, educational, and economic development by providing a skilled workforce throughout the communities of northwest Georgia. The college achieves its mission by supporting student success and providing quality technical and academic instruction through traditional and distance education delivery methods leading to associate degrees, diplomas, and technical certificates of credit programs, as well as through customized business and industry training, and adult education services.

Chattahoochee Technical College
A Unit of the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG), Chattahoochee Tech now has nine campus locations serving some of the most dynamic counties in the state. In addition to the Chattahoochee Tech campuses in Bartow, Cobb, Paulding and Pickens counties, there are two campuses in Cherokee county. One of these campuses is located in the heart of downtown Woodstock, and the other one is in Canton. The newest Chattahoochee Tech campus is the Aviation Training Academy, which opened in 2024 in Paulding County.
